Commissioners:

Present:  Chairman Pat Edwards, Commissioners Daniel B. Leeper, and George V. Spicer.

 

Absent:  Commissioners Steve Kelley and Justin Taylor.

 

Conditional Use and Variance Board Members:

Present:  Chair Orlando Avila, District 1; Board Members Sidney “Shep” Brock, District 4; and John C. VanDelinder, District 5.

 

Absent:  Board Members Kathleen Zetterower, District 2; and Clay Hartley, At-Large Member.

 

 

Other Officials Present: Michael S. Mullin, County Attorney/Interim County Manager.

 

 

Staff Present: Justin Stankiewicz, Office of Management and Budget Director; Taco Pope, Planning and Economic Opportunity Director; and representing the Clerk’s Office Peggy Snyder and Melissa Lucey, Deputy Clerks.

 

 

Official Agenda Summary:

 

 

Purpose: To convene as the South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization (SAISS) Board to consider and approve the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Environmental Funding Assistance Program Application to assist with sand replacement associated with beach erosion caused by Hurricane Irma; and, authorizing the Interim County Manager to sign the application of behalf of the SAISS Board.

Discussion: Mr. Pope provided a brief history regarding the proposed Tyler Plaza West.  He also addressed all of the requirements that would need to be met by the developer.
