Restrictions of public access to Nassau County Courthouses in response to COVID-19
As cautionary measures to restrict the spread of COVID-19 continue to evolve on national, state and local levels, the Nassau County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s office remains committed to serving the citizens of Nassau County. As such, we are also committed to doing our part in keeping our staff and the citizens we serve safe from exposure.
In keeping with the recommendations of the state and federal governments, as well as other judicial jurisdictions, the Honorable Judge James H. Daniel has issued an Administrative Order thereby limiting access to the Nassau County courthouses for all non-essential public traffic.
**Those seeking the following services will be allowed entrance to the courthouses:
· Court appearances that have not been cancelled, rescheduled or transferred to a phone or video proceeding
· Filing a domestic violence petition for an injunction for protection
· Filing a petition to establish emergency guardianship
· Filing an emergency motion for a pick-up order or other emergency motion in a family law case (timesharing, parental responsibility, visitation or safety of a minor)
· Filing a petition or request seeking a Risk Protection Order
· Filing a motion for temporary custody of a minor child by an extended family member
· Filing a petition under the Baker Act or the Marchman Act.
· Tenant deposits into the court registry for eviction or pleadings
· Obtaining a marriage license
· Filing a writ of habeas corpus
· Filing an emergency motion to stay a writ of possession or a writ of execution
**At this time, our citizens will need to utilize our online services through our website, or conduct business over the phone, for all matters not listed above.
