Effective July 1, 2021, pursuant to SC20-1765, filers in circuit civil, county civil and small claims cases will be solely responsible for ensuring any confidential information contained in filings is redacted or identified for redaction. Read Rule 2.420 here.

Under the leadership of retired Clerk John A. Crawford, Mitch learned the value, and necessity, of upholding this office's principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability for the citizens of Nassau County. Mitch understands the importance of creating an environment of open communication and accessibility, where residents can easily access the information and services we provide.  Moreover, he recognizes technology's critical role in modernizing our office and streamlining processes. He is committed to implementing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce costs for all residents.

As your Clerk, Mitch continues to work tirelessly to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethics the citizens of Nassau County require from this office, and he leads each day by ensuring this office carries out our mission statement:

“We are public servants! Our every effort shall be dedicated to protecting and preserving the public trust.”  

Mitch Keiter is a 2nd generation Nassau County native. Prior to beginning his career at the Clerk’s office, he was a small business owner and operator.

Mitch has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer, for 23 years. They have two children, Peyton and Lucas, who both attend Nassau County schools. He is a volunteer coach for YMCA youth sports and a local club volleyball team. He loves to fish, and rumor has it he’s an excellent cook.

Mitch Keiter has served in the Clerk’s office for almost 20 years.  During his tenure, he has held the positions of Chief Deputy of Information Technology and Chief Deputy of Compliance and Accountability.  

In 2017, he began serving as the Nassau County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Chief Deputy of Operations, where he helped manage the nearly 1,000 statutory responsibilities and critical public services the Clerk’s office must provide, including financial administration and oversight, information management, and record-keeping for our county government and judicial system.
