The Honorable Jenny S. Higginbotham
Jenny Higginbotham serves as Nassau County Judge, in the Fourth Judicial Circuit. She was elected to serve as Nassau County Judge in November 2020. As the only County Judge in Nassau County, she presides over misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases, landlord/tenant cases, and civil cases involving $50,000 or less. She also presides over Veteran’s Treatment Court which is a program that serves to ensure justice with treatment for veterans. She also serves as the Chair of the Canvassing Board for Elections in Nassau County.
A sixth generation native to Nassau County, she graduated from West Nassau High School in 1994, the University of North Florida in 1998, and the Florida State University College of Law in 2001. Judge Higginbotham was admitted to the Florida Bar in September 2001.
Judge Higginbotham is a lifelong native of Callahan and Callahan First Baptist Church. She is raising her two children in Nassau County which serves as her inspiration and commitment to uphold the rule of law and to ensure fairness and justice to protect the community.
Judge Higginbotham is committed to her community and serves on the Advisory Board and as a guest lecturer of the University of US Scholarship Foundation. She also serves as the President of the Robert M. Foster Inn of Court. In 2023, the Robert M. Foster Inn of Court is collaborating with Three Rivers Legal Aid to provide access to the courts in Nassau County to low-income families.
